The DeGraff Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility had some surprise guests for coffee hour on Thursday, April 27. When residents entered the room, they found the Golden Girls sitting at one of the tables! The 100 percent crocheted life size dolls were made by Sandra Arden for a fall event in Clarence just last year, and she was happy to let them have coffee with us. The Golden Girls didn’t come empty handed, they also brought their own crocheted coffee cups and even a crocheted cheesecake!
Sandra created these life size dolls without the use of any patterns and had to seat belt them into her car to bring them to DeGraff. Visiting a nursing home with her creations was something she had never dreamed of before, but seeing the smiles of our residents has her thinking of bringing us more special guests in the future.
