Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day

In honor of National Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, we salute the folks who make sure our patients have access to good, nutritional food all year 'round.

Experts in the nutritional science of saving lives

Kaleida Health's Clinical Nutrition team consists of registered dietitians and diet technicians who provide nutrition care to our patients. Clinical staff are stationed throughout the system, including Buffalo General Medical Center, Golisano Children's Hospital, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, DeGraff Medical Park and HighPointe on Michigan.

Our clinical dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients in long-term care, acute care and in the Infant Nutrition Center in the NICU at GCH.

Our dietitians are trained to treat all types of patients, including those with renal disease, diabetes, cardiac issues, trauma patients, bariatric patients, children with metabolic disorders, and oncology and geriatric patients, among other populations.

Dietitians in the group conduct nutrition assessments on high-risk patients, diagnose and treat malnutrition, and educate patients on specific diets related to their health and well-being or specific disease. They also calculate specialized enteral and parenteral feedings for critically ill patients.

Their mission is to provide quality and evidence-based nutrition care to the patients in our community. Dietitians work closely with all disciplines to coordinate care for their patients, including: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing, physicians and pharmacists, social workers and discharge planning.

Please join us in thanking our Clinical Nutrition team for helping to keep our patients well-fed and healthy.
