Olean Times Herald: Olean General kicks off Flags of Honor campaign

Apr 30, 2024

OLEAN — Upper Allegheny Health System hospitals have launched the third annual Flags of Honor campaign for 2024.

This tribute is a great way to honor a family, friend, or neighbor who has served or is serving in the military, organizers said. The system’s hospitals — Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center — will begin placing the small flags on the lawns of the facilities in two weeks.

A flag will be dedicated to reflect the service given by any past or present military member.

Flags can be purchased for $5 and will be displayed on the front lawns of the hospitals from Armed Forces Day on May 17 to Memorial Day on May 27.

The program began in 2022, with 300 flags being purchased. Hospital officials reported 170 were sold in 2023.
