Congratulations to Margaret (Peg) Jarnot, RN, who was named the Oishei Children’s Hospital Employee of the Month for May 2022.
Peg is a critical care nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and is a known as a tireless worker.
In addition to her crucial role in nursing fragile infants to health, she also focuses on those infants’ parents and helps comfort them through the stressful and scary experience of having a child in the NICU.
Peg is always willing to pitch in and pick up time if the NICU needs more help, or offers to assist her co-workers during her shift if they are running behind.
Peg’s caring spirit is also centered on her teammates. She bakes cookies to sell in the NICU for special holidays, with profits going toward purchasing items and gift cards to make baskets for NICU staff who are on disability. Peg then delivers the baskets to each staff member’s home. She is also the ultimate party planner and provides fresh flowers and decorations for staff who have birthdays or who are retiring from the NICU.
