Please join me and Cheryl Klass in congratulating Christina Mills, BSN, MBA, RN, CNOR, who has been named chief nursing officer (CNO) at Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH). Christina has held the position of CNO on an interim basis since the departure of Cassie Church in July 2022.
In this role, Christina will develop and implement nursing strategy and policies to ensure quality patient care. With our site leadership team, Christina will oversee the integration of the care delivery system at OCH so patient care needs are met with the highest standard. She’ll also participate as a key leader on the Kaleida Health System Nurse Executive and CNO Councils.
Christina, who has been a nurse for 10 years, was recruited to Kaleida Health in 2018 as manager and was promoted to director in 2019. She has been instrumental in the World Health Organization checklist roll out at OCH and has had a leadership role for the NYS Clinical Staffing Committee that has been working collaboratively with management, front line staff and SEIU leadership to define safe staffing ratios. In addition, she co-leads on the OCH Surgical Executive Committee and leads the perioperative nursing teams across the system in ensuring policies and practices adhere to the best evidence available.
Christina is a certified OR nurse with a Master of Business Administration from D’Youville College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Daemen University.
Please join us in congratulating Christina on this well-deserved appointment! We will immediately begin the search for her replacement as OCH perioperative director. Christina will continue to lead our OCH periop management during that transition period.
