Congratulations to Lynne Wilkins, surgical services nurse in the Peri Anesthesia Recovery Unit (PACU) at Oishei Children's Hospital, on receiving a DAISY award.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. DAISY Award honorees personify Kaleida Health’s remarkable patient experience. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence and are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
Lynne was nominated by her colleagues for her kindness, compassion and commitment to Leading with CARE. Her colleagues said:
Lynne came to the PACU with a wealth of critical care knowledge. She continued to take ECMO call and teach PALS classes. She generously shares her knowledge with others, whether as a teacher orienting new hires or sharing information with experienced coworkers. She is a compassionate caregiver, taking time to educate patients and their families. With her expertise, Lynne is calm and cool in critical situations.
Lynne is a self-motivated professional. Between assignments you can find her looking for ways to improve the work environment. She can often be found organizing supply carts and checking for outdates. As a team player, Lynne selflessly assists her coworkers. She will often take call when people are in a bind, as well as foregoing breaks or staying over due to staffing issues.
Lynne is a morale booster with her positive attitude, upbeat energy and continual helping hands. Every Christmas, Lynne puts together a gift bag of treats for each of her coworkers.
Most of all, Lynne provides optimal care, always patient and cordial with patients and their families, treating them as if they were a part of her family.
Lynne is a treasure to Kaleida Health and OCH! She is a great communicator, appreciated educator, patient advocate, and team player. She always goes above and beyond.
Thank you, Lynne, for your continued dedication and passion for nursing!
