Congratulations to Shakeel Shah, Surgical Technologist, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital who was recently recognized for leading with CARE. Recipients of the Leading with CARE award exemplify Kaleida Health values in their daily work, and go above and beyond for their patients, families and coworkers.
Recently there was an electrical fire in the OR. Shakeel did not think twice about jumping into action. He quickly recognized that the fire needed to be extinguished and remembered the acronym of PASS. Because of Shakeel's quick thinking, the fire was able to be contained and extinguished, and the patient was able to be transferred to another room to continue with their surgery. Shakeel is a rock star and a true GEM of the OR. We are thankful for him stepping up to handle the situation and ensure everyone's safety.
