Congratulations to Russell Gullekson, autopsy assistant at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, who was recently recognized for leading with CARE. Recipients of the Leading with CARE award exemplify Kaleida Health values in their daily work, and go above and beyond for their patients, families and coworkers.
Russell's coworkers nominated him for this award, saying:
We were so grateful for the assistance Russ gave us with dealing with a decedent and his family. The patient had passed away many days previously and no family was able to be notified. The decedent's son arrived after going to every hospital in the city in an attempt to locate his father. Russ went out of his way to support this family member who was very distraught. We were extremely grateful for Russ's assistance.
