Congratulations to Lucy Zola, patient care assistant at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, who was recently recognized for leading with CARE. Recipients of the Leading with CARE award exemplify Kaleida Health values in their daily work, and go above and beyond for their patients, families and coworkers.
Lucy was nominated by her manager who said:
Lucy is one of my primary preceptors for new PCAs coming to the Float Pool. Lucy is extremely thorough when training new employees; she is very detail oriented. Recently, because of her quality training, a brand new PCA was able to save a patient’s life by alerting the nurse that the patient's blood pressure was dropping. The excellence of the training that Lucy provides every new employee is what delivers these kind of results.
