Laurel Guinther began her career at Buffalo General Medical Center (BGMC), formerly Buffalo General Hospital, in March of 1978 and has worked on many different projects throughout her career with Kaleida Health. She was instrumental in the BGMC laboratory module builds for Cerner Classic and Millennium, and was also an elite Super User. Later in her career, she took on the position of senior clinical laboratory scientist in the Chemistry Laboratory at the Center for Laboratory Medicine on Flint Rd., where she played a major role in the completion of the annual compliance regulations. Here, Laurel also worked on maintaining the Instrument Manager Middleware for the Abbott Architect line.
Laurel has excellent technical and IT abilities, this made her a go-to person for coworkers with instrument or IT problems. As a hard working, pleasant, problem solver, Laurel will be missed.
In retirement, Laurel plans to spend time with her canine family, possibly do some traveling and is considering some volunteer work in the future. Congratulations Laurel!
