Jeanne Pingitore Retires

Congratulations to Jeanne Pingitore, clinical laboratory scientist, Center for Laboratory Medicine. She is retiring after a 46-year career with Kaleida Health Laboratories.

Jeanne received a Bachelor of Science degree with “High Honors” in 1979 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She completed her Medical Technology practical training at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital and began working in the laboratory on August 28, 1978 during her training. Jeanne is one of the original techs who moved from Gates to the Center for Laboratory Medicine the day the building opened on Flint Rd. (December 28, 1990).

Jeanne spent her career as a clinical laboratory scientist in the Chemistry Department, performing thousands of tests with skill and accuracy for Kaleida Health patients and clients. She is an excellent CLS, who always exhibited a passion for her job, showed attention to detail and understood the “what and why” of the tests she was performing. Jeanne is also very accommodating to the needs of the department, a quick learner and was a pleasure to work with. She played a key role over the years with the implementation of new instrumentation and methodologies.

Outside of work, Jeanne enjoys gardening and baking. She had been a dedicated caregiver over many years for her parents, and has shared many a story of her extended family gatherings where good Italian cooking and conversation abound. Her animated and amusing way of telling a story entertained us all.

We thank Jeanne for her years of service, and her commitment to providing exceptional care to our community. Best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement!
