Comments from her nomination include, "Marleen is always there to help whenever someone is in need. Patients call on her often, because she helps without complaint. When families ask her questions, she goes out her way to make sure they have the correct answers. Marleen puts patients first above her needs, often taking a later break just to care for someone. She is respectful to everyone, and can often be heard saying, 'I'll be right there.' Her bed side manner is one of a kind she will step in and wash a patient, make a bed or do whatever is needed. She is a true team player and I'm always glad to work with her. It blows me away to know that she comes in to draw blood early in the morning before her shift and on her days off."
"Marleen possesses all the attributes of an Employee of the Year winner: organization, excellent time management, dependability, respectfulness and excellent clinical skills, etc. However, what makes Marleen shine and standout, is her ability to anticipate not only the needs of her residents, but her co-workers, managers and the facility as a whole. Her experience working with the elderly population allows her to have solutions to problems almost instantly. During team huddles with the nursing department, Marleen is always one to speak-up when it comes to conflict/resolution between co-workers or solving an issue within the department clinically for our residents."
"Marleen will often start her day at 3:30 a.m. to draw blood for lab testing for the entire building several times per week or assist in our laundry department. If she notices a new employee having a hard time, she steps right in to assist and communicates to management that they may need more support. We are grateful to have such a dedicated and tireless person on our team."
"Marleen is the consummate team player, always willing to lend a hand in any situation and always looking out for her patients/residents to make sure they are receiving the best care.
