Drake was recruited to Kaleida Health early in 2021 to serve as vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for site financial operations. He elevated quickly, serving as interim CFO for Kaleida Health before being promoted in 2022 to his current role as executive vice president and CFO for the organization.
“Matt is uniquely qualified for this position with his diverse experience in finance, strategy and partnerships,” said Don Boyd, President and CEO of Kaleida Health. “If we are to meet our mission of advancing the health of our community, hit our strategic plan while at the same time transforming care delivery to better serve our patients, we need a leader who is solely focused on change, partnerships and collaboration. This is something Matt has a passion for and something he has been involved in since he came to Kaleida Health.”
As part of his CFO role, Drake has been overseeing the organization’s business development efforts over the past year. He informally took on some of the responsibilities of David Hughes, MD, who passed away suddenly in 2022. Dr. Hughes was Kaleida Health’s chief medical officer for five years prior to being named executive vice president of strategy and partnerships in 2021.
In his new role, Drake will focus on strategy, growth and relationships for the organization.
He will continue to be a lead partner with Great Lakes Integrated Network as well as ECMC, UBMD, insurance companies as well as other community partners, affiliates and joint ventures.
