September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and the Center for Laboratory Medicine's next ConnectLife blood drive on September 3, from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., will benefit Bella’s Brigade.
Isabella “Bella” was the young daughter of Jamie Phelan from the Visiting Nursing Association of WNY. Isabella was diagnosed with leukemia in 2016 and fought her cancer battle for 5 years. During the course of her battle, she endured two bone marrow transplants as well as multiple treatments of chemotherapies, immunotherapies and radiation.
Blood products (whole blood, platelets, plasma) were a life-saving necessity that she, and children like her, require countless transfusions of to keep their bodies fully functioning while receiving treatment. Your blood donation will help carry on Bella’s legacy, helping children (and people, in general) undergoing treatments. If you are able, please consider donating.
The ConnectLife bus will be parked in our parking lot for convenient donation. We have times available. Sign up today! To make an appointment, please contact SKobee@KaleidaHealth.Org, or call 716-529-4270. Walk-ins are welcome! All presenting donors will receive a $5.00 Tim Hortons gift card, a Buffalo Bills phone wallet and a chance to win tickets to a Bills home game!
Thank you for your consideration.
