“Professional to the core”
Training and Development Specialist Gretchen Gormley has been named the Larkin at Exchange 2025 Employee of the Year. If you have completed a Kaleida Health orientation recently then you probably know her already. She has taken on the responsibility of delivering the benefits information to our new hires at general orientation. She is also recognized throughout the system for her ability to build online surveys quickly and effectively.
Gretchen is an effective educator because she practices what she preaches, having recently completed her MBA while working full time. As an instructor, she takes the time to monitor her students’ progress and adjusts her strategy to meet their needs – such as adding a trivia game component to her benefits presentation to make sure her students retain the knowledge she imparts.
According to her manager, "Gretchen is professional to the core. She is respectful of people’s time, their belongings, their traditions and cultures, their opinions and knowledge. She speaks to everyone as though they are the most important person in the room and has a natural ability to make people feel welcomed and respected."
She is a “What can I do to help?” type of person who willingly takes on additional tasks and always offers to lend a hand. Her passion for professional growth — both her own and that of others — has increased her ability to assess learning needs, identify performance gaps and implement strategic training solutions that empower staff at all levels and positively impact patient care. Please join us in congratulating her on this outstanding achievement.
Thank you, Gretchen, for all you do in caring for others. We are proud to name you the 2025 Employee of the Year for Larkin at Exchange.
