Congratulations to Larkin at Exchange Employee of the Year 2023: Tammie-Jo Graf

"She embraces Kaleida Health's mission, vision and values and works to elevate the patient experience."

Tammie is the project lead on our instructor-led new hire orientation program. When the decision was made in January of this year to move to a weekly general orientation, Tammie willingly accepted the project and worked diligently to create a program that incorporates relevant content, engaging activities and a welcoming environment for new hires. This involved research and coordination among various departments, not to mention the time she took to train her colleagues on the program.

Tammie has been with Kaleida Health for over 20 years. In that time, she has held different positions, which have enabled her to understand the business and the important role healthcare workers serve in our community. Tammie is someone who truly leads with CARE. She loves her job and her passion for training is evident to all those she encounters - new hires, managers and staff throughout the organization. Her commitment to excellence is commendable and she is a vital part of the Learning & Performance team.

Anyone who knows Tammie, knows she is a truly caring individual. She loves the career she has built here at Kaleida Health and values the important mission that she and her colleagues fulfill in our community.

In previous years, Tammie has served on a number of organizational committees and volunteer events. She supported the development of the ERGs and provided facilitation skills training to co-leads to ensure they would find success as they lead meetings and events. She has served on employee event-planning committees, such as the Larkin link-up and Larkin Luau, employee cookouts and engagement events at VNA, MFSH and DeGraff. She volunteered to cover multiple Helping Hands shifts last year during the surge.

Tammie is the devoted mom of two grown sons, and the very hands-on grandmother of five grandsons. She often baby-sits, takes the kids to parks, the zoo or museums, and likes to regularly welcome her family to her home for holiday celebrations and cookouts in the summer. She assists her elderly mother and visits every Saturday morning to take her to breakfast. Tammie is a huge crafter. She paints, she sews, she bakes, she woodworks – you name it, she does it and does it well. This year, she gave her team hand-crafted wreaths – Buffalo Bills theme and holiday themes. And any time the weather is nice you're liable to catch Tammie out riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle.
