According to Client Network Services (CNS) Manager Kevin Kimball, "Tim Cych does an excellent job supporting the Kaleida Health organization across multiple sites as part of the CNS Field Services team. Tim has built up a rapport with staff across multiple facilities in his role of addressing IT computer equipment, and I often get positive notes back on his great work and positive demeanor. Tim ensures his work is done right the first time and ensures the staff is fully comfortable that the issue has been resolved or equipment replaced and functioning as needed before closing his support tickets."
On July 13, 2021, a lightning strike took out the wireless connection and a number of phone lines and PCs at DeGraff Medical Park. Tim, a 31-year veteran of the organization, rose to the occasion, working to restore services to the skilled nursing facility, ED, Wellness Center and the doctors’ group inside and outside of the facility. Over the course of five days, staying past his scheduled hours, Tim worked tirelessly to troubleshoot the damage and get the system back to 100 percent operability.
Said Frank Santiago, formerly manager of plant operations at DeGraff, "All I can say is he was on it, got the assistance he needed, and put in the extra time to resolve issues as quickly as possible."
"Tim works well alone and in conjunction with his other teammates," added Kimball. "He is always willing to help others, and share information with the team so as to best serve the staff he is supporting."
Outside of IT, Tim has played the role of Santa Claus for patients at the HighPointe Skilled Nursing facility, and has also participated in golf fundraising drives at Niagara Country Club for Hayley’s Kids at HighPointe. Several Eagle Scout projects were completed by his scout troop at HighPointe, plus a lot of flower planting at DeGraff.
For his ongoing commitment to Leading with CARE, Tim has been selected the Larkin at Exchange Employee of the Year for 2021.
