Business First: Meet the business leaders on this year's Power 250 list

For the last 12 years, we've compiled a list of the most powerful people in Buffalo and Western New York.

Welcome to 2024's Power 250 list.

This is responsibility that we take very seriously with a vast amount of research and reporting.

Over a year, some people stand out and some stand down. We take into consideration the parameters of a job, number of employees, community activities, length of time at a company and just the overall impact of a person's personality.

Sometimes a person's prominence in the community can outweigh his/her job. There are many factors but think about this: When you see someone at a cocktail party, do you say, "wow, i know him/her." Or if that person calls you, how quickly do you respond?

To sum it all up, we know this is a subjective list. But we use our years of news experience to determine the people on the Power 250 list, along with the Power 200 Women list in the summer and Power 100 Business Leaders of Color in the fall.

This year, we're releasing a preview of the people on the list alphabetically and unranked. Look for the complete ranking in early March, along with more information describing the power that each person holds.
