Bradford Era: Inaugural Blueberry Festival happening at BRMC

Get ready for a ‘berry’ good time at Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) as the inaugural Blueberry Festival is held in the facility’s main lobby 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26.

This new event, coordinated by the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary (BHA), will be an annual event to help support the mission of BRMC.

There will be hot dogs, chips and pop for $6, a baked goods sale, door prizes for attendees, basket raffles donated from local businesses and home-cooked blueberry cobbler for $6.

“I’m genuinely excited to be launching this new event for the hospital and our Bradford community. We have so much to celebrate here at BRMC and we want our community passionate about this hospital and local healthcare,” said Stephanie Huber, BHA executive director. “This will be our version of the Olean General Hospital Auxiliary’s Strawberry Festival.

The Strawberry Festival is OGH Auxiliary’s annual event now in its 38th year. The yearly event draws hundreds of community members to the front lawn of OGH to take part in the festivities.

“We’re starting small and looking to expand each year. Our goal is to return every year with more excitement, more activities, and to provide more fun for our community members,” Huber added.

The event was made possible due to donations and sponsors from local businesses, supporters and donors.

“Come out and have a great time while supporting this worthwhile cause of sustaining local healthcare,” Huber said.
