Congratulations to David Scheuer, building trades foreman, for being selected as the 2023 Employee of the Year for Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute (BGMC/GVI).
In his initial nomination for Employee of the Month for September 2023, David’s coworker mentioned that, "David is a great example of someone who truly cares and puts our patients first. He has been called upon many times, often on short notice, to transport beds or other patient care equipment between sites so our caregivers have the equipment and supplies they need to care for our patients. David never refuses and doesn’t complain, he just jumps into action. I can think of multiple occasions when we needed someone late in the day on a Friday or during the weekend to transport equipment to one of our sites and David is usually the first to volunteer and get it done. He is always willing to do whatever he can to help others. He is a great all-around human being."
Whether its linen and supply pickup in the middle of last year's Blizzards to last minute bed deliveries whenever they are needed, Dave is there with a smile on his face. His dedication is unmatched.
David received over 15 glowing endorsements from leadership representatives at Kaleida Health and nearly every individual mentioned his outstanding and positive attitude towards any project within the Kaleida Health facilities.
I can’t think of a more deserving member of the Kaleida Health team than Dave Scheuer to receive the employee of the year award. Dave is tireless in his support of our teams and our patients – whether he’s driving a truck through a snow storm to pick up meals for our staff, or staying late to move critical supplies and equipment – he works hard until the job is complete, and does it with a smile. He is one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and not only is his positive attitude infectious, but the level of pride he takes in his work simply can’t be taught.
