2025 Employee of the Year: Evan Davis

Congratulations to Evan Davis, RN, home health nurse, for being selected the 2025 Employee of the Year at the Visiting Nursing Association.

The Employee of the Year winner is selected from the Employee of the Month recipients at the VNA for the year. Each nomination is reviewed again along with additional feedback gathered from their supervisors and peers to determine who best demonstrates and models the Kaleida Health values and behaviors in all they do.

Evan demonstrates excellence in sharing knowledge and delivering trustworthy care that supports patients physically, mentally and emotionally. He's inspiring to colleagues and is always willing to go out of his way to help anyone in need.

Comment from his supervisor:

  • "Evan consistently goes above and beyond in his role as a homecare nurse, demonstrating exceptional dedication to both his patients and the team. He is a highly valued member of our team, known for his compassion, professionalism, and tireless work ethic. He consistently provides outstanding care, ensuring his patients feel supported not only physically but emotionally and mentally as well.

One of Evan's most remarkable qualities is his ability to form strong, trusting relationships with his patients. He takes the time to understand their individual needs, concerns, and preferences, making sure they feel heard and respected. His commitment to providing holistic care goes beyond administering medications or performing medical tasks—he takes a personal interest in their well-being.

On numerous occasions, patients and their families have expressed their gratitude for his attentiveness and kindness. He has a calming and reassuring presence that helps alleviate the stress often associated with home healthcare.

Evan is an exemplary team player who is always willing to support his coworkers. He frequently steps up to assist other nurses, whether by offering guidance, sharing knowledge, or helping with more complex tasks. His positive attitude and willingness to collaborate foster a harmonious work environment. His contributions help ensure that patient care remains seamless, even in high-pressure situations."

Comments from peers:

  • "Evan is a great coworker who always communicates with other nurses regarding patient care. He also follows up with loose ends to provide the best quality care to his patients."
  • "Evan is a fan favorite, not only with his patients but his coworkers as well. He's always happy, positive and lightens the mood with a little humor. So happy to have him be a part of this team and the community!"
  • "Evan Davis is a true team player. He truly goes above and beyond and has great communication skills. Not only does he lift the morale of his coworkers with his humor and wit, but his patient's morale also. He is a joy to everyone around him.  Evan portrays all of the qualities that make a great nurse/asset at the VNA. Thank you Evan for everything you do!"
  • "He is organized, efficient, and friendly almost to a fault. He brings a bit of enthusiasm to every patient visit. He is a brilliant nurse, and I've never had a bad experience with him - from his previous role in a PCP office where I spoke with him directly quite often, to his current role with the VNA where I speak with him almost daily."
  • "He always makes himself available to conference on a patient or listen to a tough situation I've found myself in throughout the day. He responds to every form of communication (even email) promptly and with top tier information. He is also the guy who will delay his schedule and mess up his day to dig my car out of a ditch on a zero degree day. I couldn't ask for a better coworker or friend in this job! We are incredibly lucky to have him with the VNA and he is more than deserving of this award."

Beyond his role in home care:

Outside of work, Evan is a devoted father and husband to his wife and two daughters. He enjoys going on hikes with his family and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Thank you, Evan, for all you do in caring for others.

We are proud to name Evan Davis, the Visiting Nursing Association Employee of the Year.
